RESTAURANTS IN SEATTLE REALLY HAVE A LOT OF NERVE FOR ADDING HIDDEN CHARGES TO A DINNER

me and my girl decided to have a date at this bistro and the food was already expensive for just three items. i’m thinking okay fine, it’s a nice place whatever. then the bill comes and they add a 22% mandatory equity and wellness fee on top like excuse me?? they say they’re a no tipping place but they’re still taking your money anyway without even asking

it’s honestly shady how they just slide that in there like it’s normal. i didn’t go out to pay for someone’s wellness, i went out to eat. if your business can’t survive without adding surprise charges then just be upfront instead of making people feel tricked after they already ate

and don’t even try to dress it up like you’re doing something noble for your staff because that’s not my responsibility as a customer. pay your workers properly without turning my bill into some kind of donation receipt

since i couldn’t even do anything about it at that moment, i went home and told my family and relatives about it and yeah… i told them straight up to give this place a 1 star because this kind of setup is not it. if you’re gonna charge people like that then don’t be surprised when people start calling it out
