WHEN LIFE SAID NEIGH, SHE SAID MOO.

In Laufen, Germany, teenager Regina Mayer refused to let one “no” end her dream of riding.

At around 13 to 15 years old, when her parents wouldn’t buy her a horse, she looked around the family farm and chose a heifer named Luna instead.

It was a funny idea, but it slowly turned into something incredible. At first, Luna could only tolerate Regina on her back for a few meters before getting nervous and wanting her off. Most people probably would have given up there. Regina didn’t.

Day after day, with patience, repetition, and trust, she kept working with Luna. Slowly, Luna learned to accept a saddle. Then a bridle. Then trail rides. Then jumps. Yes, actual jumps.

Footage later showed Regina in full riding gear guiding Luna over small fences, looking less like a farm scene and more like an equestrian event.

People around them were stunned. Some laughed. Others admired the dedication.

But what makes this story beautiful isn’t just the surprise of seeing a cow jump fences. It’s the bond behind it.

Regina once said that even though she still dreamed of owning a real horse, Luna would always be her favorite because of what they built together.
