I hired a guy to do drywall. He was nice and ready to do the work quickly but it seems he overestimated his skill in drywall installation. In review, I should have looked for a company with more than 16 five-star reviews. My husband told him the following,
“I’m very worried about the quality of this job. There is no corner bead on the half wall, no corner tape, large ridges, and a huge hole where the drain is. There are too many small sections instead of full pieces. It’s going to take a full skim coat on these walls to make them smooth. “
The contractors response is he didn’t know that was our expectation and would need to do a change order.
I’ve attached the photos and looking for advice. I’m not sure if we are being overly critical or if the contractor is a novice looking for more money. If it matters, we are paying him $900 for this work.
